Overview
The aether core is the node-scale mark of a law the city already walks: do not split the pack from the brain. Incoming energy is the signal. That same current is the memory. The new shape of the matter is the answer. It is not a part. It is the combination.
This is not a second heartwood and not the thinker. The crystal heart is brainstem: master resonator (shared rhythm, not a whip-clock), homeostatic loop (load shifts the lattice; runaway excitation damps), and conditioning transducer (messy harvest becomes uniform spikes). Edge Nodes do the living thought. Eimyrja recommends and constrains. The heart keeps the physics stable enough for those thoughts to happen.
Labs are already on the parts: in-memory compute against the von Neumann tax, perovskite reservoirs that use light as both dataset and current, zero-bias photonic synapses, wide-gap optoelectronic memristors. Many papers still couple a harvester to a synapse. Coupling is not monolith. The lattice that harvests and thinks in the same volume, on room light, long enough to matter, has not shipped.
