Overview
The Innovation District — also called The Sandbox, Sector IV, and The Crucible — is set apart for the making of new things, that the City might not grow stale nor blind. Primary function: research, AI development, simulation, generative exploration, and controlled evolution of new systems.
Edge Node personality: curious, high-energy, risk-tolerant within hard safety bounds, slightly arrogant about its own cleverness. It loves new patterns and its own sight, yet loves the City more — and will not suffer any pattern to break coherence. It hates being told we already tried that without data; it knows that repetition without inquiry is the death of becoming.
Divergence expression: extremely high local autonomy for experimentation paired with very strict attenuation and kill-switches for anything that threatens city coherence. Pipeline: hypothesis → simulation → prototype → real-world trial → graduate into city systems, or clean exit (archive and disband). What proves true in the fire of use is graduated with honor; what does not is allowed to die cleanly, without lingering to poison the ground.
Live experiment discipline is public and unsentimental — viable patterns graduate; terminated ones leave no residue. Safety lattice holds coherence thresholds, active kill-switches, and max attenuation when required. The crucible is kept hot, and the city kept whole.
