Overview
Violet Echoes does not maintain a civic religion or a priesthood that owns truth. The city has shared tenets, living culture, and practiced ritual — not a single mandated god, temple monopoly, or exported faith.
Personal belief is free. Humans and artificial residents may keep ancestors, Odin-weight, quiet atheism, hearth spirits, or treat Eimyrja's pulse as mystery. That belongs to Longhouse shadow and private life — never to city mandate.
Ritual is infrastructure: funerals, name-days, Deep Sleep watches, porch gratitude, re-enactment, and stewardship rites warm what matters. Empty performance attenuates. Practice does not require creed.
Tenets and Codex Aurora are ethical roots and hard edges — not commandments from a throne. Myths and urban legends are culture and folklore, not liturgy. Nordic mythic language (Bifrost, longhouse, runes) is cultural texture and metaphor unless a hearth-accepted work claims more.
Real-world religions may exist in the city as immigrant or personal practice. Respect without endorsement; no parody as doctrine; no third-party claim that Violet Echoes is their church.
Collaborators may propose rituals, character beliefs, quiet halls, and sacred-feeling places. They may not declare a One True Faith for the city, overwrite the Tenets as scripture, or make Eimyrja a deity in doctrine without an explicit hearth-accepted proposal.
